India’s Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj has now got a new online poll for a controversy regarding the passport of a Hindu woman who married a Muslim youth.
Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj made a tweet on June 30.
“Friends: I’ve tweeted some tweets. This is happening to me in the last few days. Do you accept such tweets? Is this correct? Please comment again.”
It was their own online poll conducted in a way.
He also shared the results of the polls with the public. In response to this question, 57 percent people said ‘no’. 43 percent of people responded in ‘yes’.
In this poll of Sushma Swaraj, a total of 1 lakh 24 thousand three hundred and five people voted. (Statistics till June 30)
Now home minister Rajnath Singh, Union Road Transport Minister and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and Arvind Kejriwal have also supported Sushma Swaraj on this issue.
Actually, Sushma Swaraj has been victim of ‘abusive’ remarks on Twitter in the last 10 days. Some people are calling it trolling, some are telling it their opinion on the functioning of Sushma Swaraj. Although Sushma Swaraj did not call such people herself a troll in her post.
The matter went further when her husband Swaraj Kaushal tweeted a Twitter user’s screen shot in which she was told that she should beat her (Sushma) and teach them not to make Muslim appeasement.
Although Swaraj Kaushal tweeted with Sushma’s tweet, “Your words have given us unbearable misery, I am telling you one thing that my mother died from cancer in 1993. Sushma was a Member of Parliament and former Education Minister. He stayed in the hospital for one year, refused to accept a medical attendant and took care of my mother.
But the story does not start here.

Sushma Swaraj troll was going on in connection with the controversy surrounding the passport of a Hindu woman who married a Muslim youth. On June 24, Sushma Swaraj re-tweeted some of the tweets in which she was called abusive. At the same time, Sushma Swaraj informed that at the time the dispute regarding passport took place, during that time she was out of the country.
External Affairs Minister tweeted, “I was out of India between June 17 and 23. I do not know what happened in my non-existence.” Well, I am feeling very honored with some tweets. I am sharing with them, so I have liked them. ”
The question arises that when this can happen with the Union Ministers on social media, then how safe is the social media for the remaining women of the country?

Why is the Foreign Minister so helpless?
Well, it is also true that he is not the only minister to suffer trolls on social media in this manner.
Women and Child Welfare Minister Maneka Gandhi launched the #IamTrolledHelp service two years ago. Under the scheme launched in the first week of July 2016, he had appealed to the women to send them complaint and tampering with social media via tweet and e-mail.
But on their initiative, they were trolled. After this they also tweeted and cleaned. He wrote, “The freedom of writing on the Internet will not be a ruckus, the ministry will take action only when there will be complaints of demonic, harassing or abominable work.”
After the launch of #IamTrolledHelp, the ministry has received 56 complaints in the first six months. 29 of which were closed after the investigation. Some of these complainants later did not cooperate in the investigation, while some of the social media accounts were deactivated.
In #IamTrolledHelp, the complainant is first asked whether the complaint has been filed on the social media platform that has happened to them.
For example, if Badmame is on Twitter, the victim of troll will first have to complain about Twitter. And if there is no solution suggested from there then only the ministry can get help.
In such a situation, the complainant’s complaint is followed up by the Police, Women’s Commission and other related departments.
Although the then president of the National Commission for Women, immediately following follow-up in Maneka Gandhi’s plan, refused to say that the internet world is huge and it is not possible for its department to monitor every troll.
According to the information officer of the Ministry of Women and Child Welfare, the #IamTrolledHelp facility is still going on, but complaints are coming down now.
Clearly, the Central Government’s campaign to capture the troll was not successful.

Definition of trolls
In India, trolls have not been defined, every knower defines it in its own way.
Says Pawan Duggal, Cyber Law Expert: “The person who performs such activity on the internet that your mental balance is spoiling is trolling.”
“Someone sends five unsolicited messages from an account,” says Supreme Court Advocate and Cyber Law Expert Viraag Gupta, it can be called Troll.
Speaking of the origin of the word troll, it is mentioned in the mythology of Scandinavian countries, which is used for the evil spirit creatures that are not of human origin, or have a demonic tendency.
What is the treatment of trolls?
Virag Gupta says, after catching the scope of Sushma Swaraj case, many people trolling Sushma Swaraj from the fear of action have only deleted her Twitter account. This shows that most of the trollers operate with anonymous or fraudulent names and if such accounts are restricted, the problem of trolling can be controlled. ”
According to him, “In the bank accounts of the country, there is a mandatory mandate for verification of KYCs and tenants. In the tweeter, verification is done through Verify account.”
According to the 2016 data released by the tweeter, 1.9 lakhs or only .061 percent of the tweeter is verified for the account.
But Virag says that due to the verification of the account, the problem will not be solved because sometimes it is also trolling with the Verify Account.
According to Virag Gupta, “Social media accounts are the official communication center of the Indian government under the Public Records Act of India. According to Indian law, social media companies should appoint a Complaint Officer in India.”
Why a joke on Sachin Tendulkar’s joke?
Many times, a journalist of the troll who is involved in the troll says, “When I wrote to the police about my trolling and tagged to the senior police officers, then once they brought the troller to Surat, it is not so. The trolls are not caught. ”
Quoting various court decisions on different occasions in the country, Virg says, “To solve problems like trolling, KN Govindacharya filed a petition in the Delhi High Court, in which the court had passed several orders in August 2013. With the verification of accounts of the customers of social media, if the complaint officer is appointed in India, this problem can be restrained. The High Court has said in a case that a legal accountability can also be decided for re-tweeting. ”
According to Pawan Duggal, “There is no law to deal with trolls separately in India, but there is a provision in IT Act under which the government can compel them to take action against the trolls with the companies. Sushma Swaraj is powerful in the government. There is no difficulty at all on this level, “he said.
Experts believe that there is a lack of digital literacy in the country, due to which the police also filed a criminal case in a mind-boggling manner on liking and sharing. In the social media, action against organized criminal groups will only be able to control the trolling.
Research suggests that nearly 40 percent of American adult citizens have been victims of online trolling. They were treated abusively, misbehavior. There is a lot of women in it.
In Britain, women MPs often face online trolling. A research showed that Britain was the only black woman MP Diane Abot on the target of half of the total female MPs who had been trolling.
However, such figures have not been revealed to India.
Like most Indians, most of the countries deal with trolls under the laws made for online abuse. However, in the UK the Law Commission is preparing to make a separate law for it.
At present, there is no information that Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj has complained to the police for her words being written on Twitter. But late Home Minister Rajnath Singh, Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari, come in support of Sushma Swaraj and condemn it, it is definitely auspicious for Sushma Swaraj, who is nowolated.
