Argentina in the last -16 with the help of Messi and Rozo’s goals


In the World Cup 2018 Group stage match played in St. Petersburg on Tuesday, Argentina defeated Nigeria 2-1 and made it to the last 16.

Defender Marcos Rozo saved the Argentine from being out of the tournament in the first round with a spectacular goal four minutes before the game ended.

The first goal in this match was made by Lionel Messi, which was very great. They did this goal in the 14th minute when Nigerian team was dominating Argentina.

In the second half, Nigeria’s Victor Moses changed the penalty kick to score 1-1, but Rogo scored the goal for Argentina in the 86th minute which proved to be decisive.

It was difficult for Argentina to make it to the last 16, because his first match in the group stage was drawing 1-1 with Iceland. In the second match, Croatia defeated him 3-0.

In order to reach the final-16, it was necessary to beat Nigeria in this match, and on the other hand, defeating Croatia to Iceland.

In the second match played on Rostov on Tuesday, Croatia defeated Iceland 2-1. This also helped Argentina reach the last 16.

Before these two matches Argentina had the last of the four teams in the group. Iceland was third, Nigeria second and Croatia were at number one, but after the outcome of both the matches changed the situation became different.

Croatia had already made it to the last 16 and Argentina now has reached the final 16. But Iceland and Nigeria’s World Cup tour has ended.

Now in the last -16 round, Argentina will play against France and Croatia will take on Denmark.
