Israel has become a country for 70 years. Seven major events in these 70 years –
According to the Hebrew calendar, 70 years of Israel’s independence announcement is being fulfilled. According to the Gregorian calendar, on May 14, 1948, it was the day when Jews throughout the world had celebrated independence. This opportunity came three years after the end of World War II. Neighboring Arab countries did not accept the independence of Israel and on the second day the armies of five countries had attacked the new country.

After the creation of Israel, millions of Palestinian Arabs had to flee during the war. This was the beginning of the Palestinian refugee problem which continues to this day. Nearly six million Jewish refugees from Arab countries and 2.5 million survivors in Europe during World War I settled there in some years of the establishment of Israel. With this, the number of Jewish people in Israel has more than doubled.

In the year 1961, during a lawsuit in the formulas of the top Jewish massacre, Adolf Ischman in Jerusalem. The agents of Israel had caught him in Argentina. For many weeks before the court in front of Ichmann, when the witnesses of the massacre were presented, the terrifying details given by them were made by the people of Israel. Ichmann was found guilty and he was hanged in 1962.

The six-day battle of 1967 changed the Middle East map. Israel attacked Egypt, whose leader threatened to wipe out the Jewish country. After that, the conflict with Egypt, Jordan and Syria ended in Israel as the occupation of the Sinai Peninsula, Gaza, East Jerusalem, the West Bank and the Golan Pahari. After this, for the first time in 2000, the Western Wall, which is considered to be religiously sacred to ancient Jerusalem, came under the possession of the Jews.

An important event in Israel’s history took place in 1976 when Israeli commandos freed more than one hundred hostages by raiding Uganda’s Ettebe airport. They were mortgaged by Palestinian and Palestinian supporter kidnappers. Most of these were Israelis or Jews. After the release the hostages were taken to Israel. In this operation, commando force chief Vony Netanyahu (brother of current Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu) was killed.
