In the medal tally of Commonwealth Games in the Gold Coast of Australia, the Indian team is fourth.
India has won six gold, two silver and three bronze medals.
Out of these six gold, five of the weightlifters of India have won and got in a gold shooting competition.

1. Meerabai Chanu, Gold Medal, Women Weightlifting, 48kg
Born on August 8, 1994 and grew up in a small village in Manipur, Mirabai was very talented since childhood. His village with no special facilities was 200 kilometers away from the capital of Infilhal.
Meerabai Chanu has won the gold medal in the Commonwealth Games. But there was a time when he had failed in the 2016 Olympic Games, and after that he had decided to take part in the game.
2. Sanjita Chanu, Gold Medal, Women Weight Lifting, 53kg
Employees of Indian Railways are shy by temperament, but when they fall on the ground, their second form can be seen.
The process for winning medal for Sanjita started from childhood.
At the age of 20, Sanjita won the gold medal in the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow by taking 173 kg in 48 kg category.
3. Satish Kumar Shivalingam, Gold Medal, Male Weightlifting, 77kg
Satish Shivalingam, who started his training at the age of 12, is the son of a former soldier.
Satish’s father has participated in national weightlifting competitions at the national level.
Satish Shivalingam has won gold medal in the Commonwealth Games in the year before 2014.
4. Venkata Rahul Raagala, Gold Medal, Male Weightlifting, 85kg
Venkat Rahul Ragla, who came from Stuartpuram in Andhra Pradesh, was considered a gold medalist from the very beginning.
In the 2014 Youth Olympics, he won the silver medal in 77 kg weight category. He has also won gold medal in the Asian Junior Championships.
Venkat Rahul Ragla has got an attachment to sports. His father Madhu Ragla was a Kabbadi player and used to weightlifting.
5. Poonam Yadav, Gold Medal, Women Weight Lifting, 69kg
22-year-old Poonam Yadav, who lives in the famous city of Banaras in Uttar Pradesh, has won a gold medal in 69 kg weight category.
Earlier, he has won 63kg bronze medal in the 2014 Glasgow Commonwealth Games.
6. Manu bhaker, gold medal, woman 10 meter air pistol
Manu Bhaker, who is studying in the 12th class, is preparing for medical in the 12th standard. But in the meantime, he has whipped his whistle in the shooting game.
Just 10 months ago, Manu had participated in the Junior World Cup and was at number 49. This year when he played in the Senior World Cup, he directly aimed at the gold medal – in the 10 meter air pistol class.
The main thing is that Manu has started playing this game just two years ago.
7. Gururaja, silver medal, male weightlifting, 56 kg
25 year old Gururaja comes from Kundapur town of Karnataka. The son of a truck driver, Gururaja is the fifth of eight brothers and sisters.
During his graduation in 2010 in South Kannada, he started weight lifting.
Before that, he has won gold medal in the Commonwealth Senior Weightlifting Championship in 2016.
8. Heena Sidhu, Silver Medal, Women’s 10m Air Pistol
Hina Sidhu, born in Ludhiana in 1989, has a degree of Dental Surgery, but the fame of shooting at home was a hobby of shooting at home with national shooter father Rajbir Singh Sidhu.
Since college, Hina started the process of winning medal.
At the age of 19, he won the silver medal in the Hungarian Open and World Cup in Beijing in 2009.
Hina became the first Indian woman to win gold medal by making a world record in the 10 meter Air Pistol tournament in the World Shooting Championship of 2013.
9. Deepak lather, Bronze Medal, Men Weight Lifting, 69kg
10. Ravi Kumar, Bronze Medal, Male 10m Air Rifle
Born in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, 28-year-old Ravi Kumar was at the fourth place in the Commonwealth Games.
Ravi Kumar is working in the Indian Air Force. He has studied at Delhi University.
11. Vikas Thakur, Bronze Medal, Male Weightlifting, 94 Kgs.
Born in Patten, Hamirpur district of Himachal Pradesh, the development is 24 years old.
